Almás (Hungarian Apple Dessert / Apple Filling)
Ingredients:
- 4–5 apples (peeled and grated or chopped)
- 2–3 tbsp sugar (to taste)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1–2 tbsp semolina or breadcrumbs (optional, to absorb juice)
Instructions:
- Peel and grate (or finely chop) the apples.
- Add sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Mix well.
- Let sit for 10 minutes so apples release juice.
- If too wet, add semolina or breadcrumbs to absorb extra liquid.
- Use as filling for cakes, strudel, or pastries.
