🥒 Hungarian Cucumber Salad (Uborkasaláta) 🇭🇺

🧾 Ingredients

  • 2–3 cucumbers (thinly sliced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2–3 tbsp vinegar (white or apple cider)
  • 1–2 tsp sugar
  • 100–150 ml water
  • 1 clove garlic (optional, crushed)
  • Pinch of paprika (for topping)
  • Sour cream (optional, traditional in some versions)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Slice cucumbers very thin.
  2. Sprinkle with salt and let sit 10–15 minutes.
  3. Squeeze out excess water.
  4. Mix vinegar, water, sugar, and garlic.
  5. Pour over cucumbers and mix well.
  6. Chill in the fridge for 20–30 minutes.
  7. Serve cold, sprinkle paprika on top (optional).
