🧾 Ingredients

Chicken Paprikash:

  • 1 kg chicken thighs or drumsticks
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp Hungarian sweet paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 250 ml chicken broth
  • 200 ml sour cream
  • 1 tbsp flour
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Dumplings (Nokedli):

  • 250 g all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 ml water
  • 1/2 tsp salt

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a large skillet and sauté the onion until soft.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the paprika.
  3. Add the chicken and garlic, then return to heat.
  4. Pour in the broth, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 35–40 minutes until the chicken is tender.
  5. Mix sour cream and flour until smooth, then stir into the sauce. Simmer for 2–3 minutes.

For the Dumplings:
6. Mix flour, eggs, water, and salt into a thick batter.
7. Drop small spoonfuls into boiling salted water.
8. Cook until the dumplings float to the surface, about 2–3 minutes.
9. Drain well.

  1. Serve the chicken paprikash over the dumplings and enjoy.
